What is most vital for a profiler to perform an accurate analysis?
2. What is your first answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
The medical examiners report within the profile is most vital due to its large and impactful influence on the outcome of the profile, as well as the diagnosis and capture of the ENSUB.
3. What is your second answer? (In complete thesis statement format)
The victimology report is vital to the accuracy of the profile because the way to find and understand an ENSUB is by learning about his/her victim(s).
4. List three reasons your answer is true with a real world application for each.
- The first and most obvious revelation made by victims alone is the type of crime i.e. rape, murder, theft.
- Bullies tend to pick on a particular group of people which is usually studied to determine underlying disorders or problems.
- Law enforcement have different investigative and prosecution techniques based on the person being sought out. Not only having to do with their particular set of crimes but the type of person they are.
Victimology by William G. Doerner is the best supportive research tool because it evaluates the role that victimology plays and is used in today's criminal justice system.
6. What other source supports your answer?
The profile of "Jack the Ripper" created by Special Agent John E. Douglass has been extremely useful in determining my second answer because when reading, the victimology report clarified the profile extremely.
7. Tie this together with a concluding thought.
This answer in which I'm stating that the victimology report is most important was going to be my number one answer however I changed my final decision last minute. I still have yet to decide which I feel is stronger or will be my final answer however I am confident that they both have an exciting amount of potential.
